Although there's been no cut in fuel prices to match the drop per barrel in crude oil prices, Costa Cruises has decided to waive the fuel surcharge on the cruise fare (with the exception of fuel surcharge applied by air carrier).

The cancellation of the fuel surcharge will be applicable for all cruises departing from 1° January 2009 (valid for all bookings starting from 4 November 2008). If you've already booked a cruise leaving after 1 January 2009, the fuel surcharge will be refunded on board with vouchers you’ll be able to spend on the ship. This policy could be reviewed should the price of crude oil substantially rise in the future
